WCAMS Endowment Fund
The WCAMS Endowment Fund was established in 2015 with the goal of supporting our Scholarship and Bursary program.
Each year, WCAMS receives approximately 3.5% in disbursements from our Endowment Fund which is used to award scholarships and bursaries to individuals for the upcoming summer music camp. Any additional growth is reinvested in the fund.

The WCAMS Endowment Fund is held at Vancouver Foundation, the largest Community Foundation in Canada with over $1billion in funds managed by professional investment managers.
Since the inception of its first summer music camp in 1984, WCAMS has run a Scholarship and Bursary program to provide financial assistance to those who may find camp fees a barrier to their attendance.
This program was funded by various fundraising activites (book and CD sales, concert donations, silent auctions and request for donations on application forms).
With rising camp fees, a larger camp and more demand for aid, this model was not sustainable. In 2015, a 5-year campaign was launched, led by Claudia Morawetz, to build a permanent Endowment Fund for Scholarships and Bursaries.
To build an Endowment Fund which will provide scholarships and bursaries to amateur musicians of all ages and musical abilities, thus removing financial barriers to individuals who would like to attend the WCAMS summer music camp.Campaign Goal: $200,000 Campaign End: (July 2020) over $247,000 !
in addition: almost $19,000 in distributions over the 5 years (2016 - 2020).

Today our Endowment Fund disburses around $10,000 annually and is used to provide scholarships and bursaries to those wishing to attend camp who would not otherwise be able to attend.
We encourage students, families with children, pensioners, low-income or any other individuals who wish to enjoy a week of music making, but require financial assistance to help with camp fees, to apply.
WCAMS welcomes all amateur musicians. Our Scholarship and Bursary program assures that all who wish to attend are able to enjoy an immersive week of music-making.
